002: What is ADS and what kind of help does ADS provide?

SOLUTION
ADS (originally "Academic Department Support") is a group within Computing, Communications, and Information Services (CCIT) that provides computer support for non-lab computers across the Mines campus. Since merging with Administrative Department Support in 2010, ADS now provides both academic and administrative department computer support. So one might now think of ADS as "All Department Support."

To request ADS help with a technology issue, please submit a Mines Help Center "Helpdesk" request (http://helpdesk.mines.edu).

NOTES
In general, ADS will handle most problems related to desktop computers, laptops, and printers campuswide. However, certain other services and resources -- lab computers, networking, and so on -- are maintained by other CCIT units. In all cases, support requests may be made through Mines Help Center.
