Entry: 8.003 Category: Blackboard Keywords: student; self-enroll Question or Problem: How do I enroll myself into a Blackboard course? Solution:
- Log into your Blackboard account (http://blackboard.mines.edu/).
- Click on the "Courses" tab in the upper-left portion of the page.
- Search for the course name or browse the Blackboard Course Catalog to find your course.
- Click on the "Enroll" button to the right of the course name (see example here):
- If course enrollment requires an access code, fill in the access code that was supplied by the course instructor.
- Click "Submit" to finish.
Notes: The Blackboard portion of a course is separate from the CSM Registrar's records. To receive credit for a course, you must be enrolled in the course through the Registrar; Blackboard course registration will simply allow you to access online course materials pertaining to that particular class.
In some cases, enrollment in Blackboard may not be instantaneous and automatic after following the instructions above. If the instructor has configured Blackboard to allow students to self-enroll, you will find yourself enrolled immediately in the requested Blackboard course. If the instructor intends to approve each Blackboard enrollment personally, an email message will be sent to the instructor and you will be notified via reply of the acceptance or denial of your request.Written By: Ginny Lee/David M.
