Question or Problem:  What are false positives?
What are false negatives?

Solution:

A false positive occurs when a legitimate email is marked as spam because that email has certain spam-like characteristics; messages sent to many recipients, for instance, might resemble spam. To receive legitimate email that is erroneously marked as spam, modify your whitelist, which is a listing of known senders and email you wish to receive. A false negative occurs when mail you think is spam is not marked. To block email messages from known spam sources, modify your blacklist, which is a special listing of known senders whose email you do not wish to receive in any circumstances.

Blacklists, whitelists, and other options are managed through your quarantine inbox account on the spam filter server. See the CCIT Spam Filtering web site for more information. (http://ccit.mines.edu/Filter-Spam)
