Question: How do I get an outside line?
Answer: Dial 9, wait for a second dial tone and then dial the local 10-digit number or 1 + area code + number.

Question: How do I dial an International Number?
Answer: Dial 9 + 011 + Country Code + Number. For country code information, call x3355.

Question: How do I transfer a call?
Answer: From a campus digital telephone, press the Trans (transfer) button on the phone, wait for the dial tone, input the 4-digit extension to which you want to transfer the caller and press the transfer button again.

From a campus analog telephone, hook-flash (press and release the hook switch), wait for the dial tone, input the 4-digit extension to which you want to transfer the caller, hook-flash again and hang up.

Question: How do I forward my telephone to another campus extension? This feature must be enabled for use.
Answer: From a campus digital telephone, press the Fwd (forward) button on the phone, input the 4-digit extension to which you want to forward your calls and press the Fwd button again. This feature is active for as long as the LED is lit solid.

From a campus analog telephone, press #1, wait for the dial tone, input the number to which you want to forward your calls and hang up. To disable forward, dial #1 and hang up.

Question: How do I make a conference call? This feature must be enabled for use.
Answer: From a campus digital telephone, initiate an active call with the first party to your conference and then press the Conf (conference) button. You will hear a dial tone, which indicates that you may now connect to the next party. Once they answer, press the Conf button again to connect that party to the conference. Repeat up to four more times for a, maximum, six party conference.

From a campus analog telephone, initiate an active call with the first party to your conference and then hook-flash (press and release the hook switch). Wait for the dial tone, connect to the next conference party and repeat hook-flash to connect that party to the conference. Repeat up to four more times for a, maximum, six party conference.

Question: How do I log in to voice mail?
Answer: For OpenUC users, connect to OpenUC, x2100 or 303-384-2100, or press the message key from your phone. Enter your PIN(password) then #. If calling from a phone other than yours enter your extension followed by # then your PIN(password) followed by #.

For Call Pilot users, connect to Call Pilot, x3001 or 303-273-3001 or press the message key from your phone. Enter your mailbox number followed by # and then enter your password followed by #. Additional options are available by pressing 8* once you have logged in to your mailbox.

Question: What is Express Messaging and how is it useful?
Answer: Express Messaging is a fast method of leaving a message in another Call Pilot mailbox without calling the other person or logging in to your own mailbox to compose and send the message:

  • Connect to Call Pilot Express Messaging x 3003, 303-273-3003
  • Enter the mailbox number of your party, press #
  • Wait for the tone and record your message

OR

  • If you are on the OpenUC system dial 8 and the extension.
  • Wait for the tone and record your message

When finished, hang up.
