General Description: The MathWorks web-site describes Matlab as "a high-level language and interactive environment that enables you to perform computationally intensive tasks faster than with traditional programming languages such as C, C++, and Fortran."

Availability for student, faculty and research use: Thanks to our Tech Fee program, Matlab is now available for download to all students, faculty and researchers.

For installation on a personal computer you must first create an account on the Matlab portal. Downloads, tutorials and support are available here.

For installation on a school owned computer, please submit a Mines Help Center request so as not to tie up your personal license.

Licensing Mechanisms: Campus installations are authenticated against a central license server.  Personal licenses are valid as long as your school affiliation is valid.

In case of difficulties running the software in a CSM CCIT managed lab: Contact CCIT via the Mines Help Center. We want the program to be properly installed, licensed and functioning. If you have questions about the use of the program, please contact your instructor, TA or lab manager.
